The Steyning Downland Scheme is a UK registered charity and we’re completely dependent on the generous giving of our supporters to be able to continue our work. Giving from local people allows us to conserve local wildlife and engage more people in the natural world. We don’t do street collections or cold calling but here are some ways you can lend your financial support to the SDS:
Make a One-Off Donation
Perhaps the easiest way to give to us is to make a one-off donation via BT Mydonate. Please click on the link below for more information:
If you would like to give £2 or more monthly to our work, then you can become a Friend of the Steyning Downland Scheme’. Friends receive our occasional newsletter, invitations to special Friends and Volunteers events and are entitled to 20% off most of our paid events. Full details about how you can become a Friend of the SDS can be found on our Friends page.
If you are the entrepreneurial type and would like to support us through local fundraising or other creative ideas, you might like to consider joining our Supporters Group. To find out more, please contact Eleanor Gloster: email@example.com / 07786 547114
Leave us a Gift in your Will
Please consider making a legacy in your Will to the Steyning Downland Scheme. Legacies to UK charities are exempt from inheritance tax, so it may help reduce the amount of tax payable, if your estate is over the exempt threshold.
For suggested wording, either for a codicil (if you have already made a Will) or for a new Will, please use the forms below (these link to PDF documents):
A small herd of Dexter cattle, owned by Frances Sedgwick, make a huge contribution to our conservation work by grazing our species-rich chalk grassland right through the year. In 2010, internationally known cow painter Veronica van Eijk painted Japonica, one of our Dexter cows. Veronica has now very generously offered to donate the proceeds of the sale of all 200 high quality, limited edition, signed giclée prints of Japonica to the Steyning Downland Scheme.
Dimensions: 40cm x 54cm
Cost: £75 (+ £5.00 p&p)
Edition: (1/200) Available from print shop on www.vaneijkarts.com
Veronica will send the proceeds of all purchases direct to the Steyning Downland Scheme.
We are particularly grateful to the Goring family for making their land available for us to manage and for their generous financial support. Many thanks indeed to all our supporters, whether financial, or in kind!
