Friends Scheme

Friends of Steyning Downland Scheme

You can join the Friends by completing and returning this form.

We relaunched our Friends Scheme in spring 2017 and this group of regular givers has already become a vital part of our funding mix, as it becomes ever more tricky to raise core funds through grant-making bodies.

The Friends are entitled to 20% off all our paid events; they’re kept up-to-date with our news and we make sure they are invited to all our social activities, such as the summer volunteer tea party and the Christmas party.

We’re always open to more Friends! It’s very straightforward to join. Simply set up a regular donation of £2 per month or more through your bank by Standing Order and make sure we have your contact details. There are three ways you can do this:

  1. Download and print off a copy of our Friends leaflet here.  Then fill it in and either e-mail a photo of it, or post it to our office: The Friends Membership Secretary, Steyning Downland Scheme, Estate Office, Wiston Park, West Sussex, BN44 3DD.
  2. E-mail us your postal address and we will send a form to you.
  3. Set up a Standing Order yourself, directly with your bank and then email us to let us know, so we can add you to our list of Friends.

If you’re a UK taxpayer, please remember to fill in the Gift Aid section of the form, so that we can claim an extra 25% on your giving.

Thank you so much for your support for the Steyning Downland Scheme!

NEW: Steyning Downland Scheme Supporters Group

Christmas wreath making fundraiser – December 2016

If you love nature and want to help with all our exciting projects – then join our new Supporters Group.   We are a friendly bunch, who meet every couple of months in a local pub.   Our main aim is to look at practical ways to support the Scheme’s conservation work by fundraising – mostly by organising local events.

We are also keen to put younger people at the heart of the Scheme, and getting them involved in the wildlife activities from an early age!  One of the exciting projects we are involved with is the new Community Orchard with a Wild Nature Area on the Big Picnic Field in partnership with Steyning Community Orchard.

Our next event is the Easter Egg Rollathon on 19th April 2017 – all welcome!

If would like to find out more about the group, please contact Eleanor Gloster:  steyningdownland@gmail.com   /  07786 547114
