Friends Scheme

Friends of Steyning Downland Scheme

Become a Friend and help support the wonderful conservation work on the Steyning Downland which helps the wildlife, the environment & the local community.

It’s simple, just set up a regular donation to support our work and we’ll ensure you get to hear about what we’re up to and invite you to our special events, such as the SDS Christmas Party and Cream Tea talks.

Just £2 a month can help us to fund Discovery Days for local schools, buy tools so we can create better habitats for wildlife such as rare butterflies, or improve paths and signage around the Scheme.

To set up a regular donation of any amount – please go to our secure BT MyDonate page. If you’re a UK taxpayer you can also increase your donation at no cost to you through Gift Aid on the BT MyDonate page.

  • and thank you for your support for the Steyning Downland Scheme!

NEW: Steyning Downland Scheme Supporters Group

Christmas wreath making fundraiser – December 2016

If you love nature and want to help with all our exciting projects – then join our new Supporters Group.   We are a friendly bunch, who meet every couple of months in a local pub.   Our main aim is to look at practical ways to support the Scheme’s conservation work by fundraising – mostly by organising local events.

We are also keen to put younger people at the heart of the Scheme, and getting them involved in the wildlife activities from an early age!  One of the exciting projects we are involved with is the new Community Orchard with a Wild Nature Area on the Big Picnic Field in partnership with Steyning Community Orchard.

Our next event is the Easter Egg Rollathon on 19th April 2017 – all welcome!

If would like to find out more about the group, please contact Eleanor Gloster:  steyningdownland@gmail.com   /  07786 547114
