Friends Scheme

Friends of Steyning Downland Scheme

Become a Friend of the Steyning Downland Scheme and help support our work – help conserve wildlife and involve the local community.

It’s simple, just set up a regular donation. In return, you’ll be entitled to a big reduction in the cost of our paid events, be the first to hear about what we’re up to and be invited to our special supporters events, such as the SDS Christmas Party and Cream Tea talks.

Just £2 a month can help us to fund Discovery Days for local schools, buy tools so we can create better habitats for wildlife such as rare butterflies, or improve paths and signage around the Scheme.

To set up a regular donation of any amount, you’ll need to fill in one of our Friends leaflets. You can either:

  • Contact us at: tel: 01903 817996 and we will send you a leaflet,

  • Download and print off a copy of the Friends leaflet here, fill it in and either e-mail a photo of it or post it to our office: The Friends Membership Secretary, Steyning Downland Scheme, Estate Office, Wiston Park, West Sussex, BN44 3DD.

[Please note you can make donations via our secure BT MyDonate page, but please don’t use this route if you would like to sign up as a Friend.]

If you’re a UK taxpayer you can also increase your donation at no cost to you through Gift Aid. Full details are given on our Friends leaflet.

Thank you for your support for the Steyning Downland Scheme!

NEW: Steyning Downland Scheme Supporters Group

Christmas wreath making fundraiser – December 2016

If you love nature and want to help with all our exciting projects – then join our new Supporters Group.   We are a friendly bunch, who meet every couple of months in a local pub.   Our main aim is to look at practical ways to support the Scheme’s conservation work by fundraising – mostly by organising local events.

We are also keen to put younger people at the heart of the Scheme, and getting them involved in the wildlife activities from an early age!  One of the exciting projects we are involved with is the new Community Orchard with a Wild Nature Area on the Big Picnic Field in partnership with Steyning Community Orchard.

Our next event is the Easter Egg Rollathon on 19th April 2017 – all welcome!

If would like to find out more about the group, please contact Eleanor Gloster:   /  07786 547114
