Dexter Lookering

The Steyning Downland Scheme uses Dexters on loan from a local grazier to help us conserve our ancient chalk grassland habitats. We keep an eye on these with a team of volunteer Lookerers who daily visit the Dexters, check they are okay and then confirm with our grazier by text.

As of October 2016 we have begun training up a team of Superlookerers who will be able to pick up the telltale signs of problems with Dexter health, long before they become a big issue.
