Dog Ambassadors is Launched!
There’s been quite a bit of national publicity recently highlighting the many and varied problems dogs seem to be causing in the countryside. If they’re not worrying farm animals, dogs seem to be busying themselves chasing wildlife, weeing and pooing on threatened habitats or washing their toxic flea treatments into our waterways. Most recently, that bastion of British intellectualism, The Guardian has declared that dogs ‘have an ‘extensive and multifarious’ impact on environment”. Having checked the dictionary, that doesn’t sound good.

Today the Steyning Downland Scheme has stepped into the breach, with the launch of our all-new Dog Ambassador scheme! Led by unashamed dog enthusiast, Penny Ixer, the team will be out and about on the Steyning Downland and meeting dog owners to offer information and advice about how best to look after dogs in the countryside.
