Botany: Cut Strips Survey – 28th June

28 June @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

A special botany survey which started in 2023.  We will be investigating the effects of winter cutting on our chalk downland wild flowers. Does a cut in winter help to stop invasive grasses and encourage more biodiversity?  Join the team and find out!

Book Here

All botanical abilities, from newbie to experienced botanists are very welcome. Please bring botancial identification guides with you, if you have any.

Please wear stout footwear (steep slopes), bring a water bottle and dress appropriately for the weather. We will be walking in open downland so a hat is advised on sunny days. Ticks can be a problem in any long grassland on the Downs, so long trousers tucked into socks are advised.

Meet at 9.45 for a 10am start.
