Path Patchers

The Path Patchers are a team of volunteers who help look after our Rights of way and informal paths. We’re always open to new people joining in, so do contact us if you’re interested.

The Steyning Downland Scheme has five Public Bridleways, one Public Footpath and one Permitted Path.  There’s also a network of informal paths which have gradually appeared as the land has become increasingly popular with local walkers. Nobody has added it all up yet, but it certainly means a lot of path to keep open for walkers each year . . .

You can read more about our different types of path and how to use them responsibly on our Rights of Way page.

The Path Patchers are led by Christine Supiot. They work mostly during the autumn and winter months, clearing back vegetation so that everyone can all use the paths safely. New volunteers are always welcomed – to join in, please complete our volunteering form and we’ll be in touch – thank you!
