From as little as £3 a month, you can become a Friend of the Steyning Downland Scheme and play an important role in caring for our unique downland and the rich wildlife it supports. Our Friends provide us with vitally important regular income, enabling us to plan our conservation and educational work months ahead.

Volunteer With Us

Volunteering with us offers a wealth of opportunities to engage with nature, contribute to conservation and enjoy the great outdoors. If you’re interested in helping wih hands-on habitat management, wildlife monitoring, educational outreach, office support and much more, there’s a place for you.

Leave a gift in your Will

After making provision for family and friends, many people choose to remember a favourite charity in their Will.  Legacies to UK charities are exempt from UK inheritance tax, and are deducted from your estate before inheritance tax is calculated.

Make a donation

In recent years, donations have helped us restore a medieval millpond, install benches, gates, and stiles, maintain footpaths, and run a programme of educational courses and events.

A donation to the Steyning Downland Scheme will help protect and enhance this special landscape, and help young people to understand the nature living close to their home.

Fundraise for us

Running a race, organising a cake sale, or nominating us as a chosen charity – there are hundreds of ways that you can raise funds for the Steyning Downland Scheme.  Your support will help us manage the land for the benefit of local wildlife, the Steyning community and all who visit.

Gifts in Memory

A gift in memory is a unique donation, supporting our conservation work in honour of someone special.  In memory gifts can be made individually, or as collections in lieu of flowers at a funeral. Donations made in memory will help protect the habitats and wildlife of the Steyning Downland Scheme, ensuring this special place can be enjoyed for generations to come. For in memory gifts of £500 or more, it may be possible to place a new memorial gate on the land, with a commemorative plaque.
